BRGY. BANACUD
BRIEF HISTORY
Barangay Banacud is slowly moving towards progress being the expansion area of poblacion or Central Business District of Magallanes. It is a peaceful community since many chapels from different religious groups are situated in the barangay. The two cemeteries – Municipal and Economic Cemetery are also located in the place.
After the heart-rending travel from the junction of Juban, Sorsogon with rolling hills and mountains, the blind curves and zigzag roads where the beauty of nature can be seen, the green valley, mountain hills and plains, fish pool and springs, the feeling of ease and real release of tension can be felt as one reached the Sorsogon State College and National High School.
The main source of income of the residents are farming and fishing since it is located along the Incarizan River – a wide and abundant fishing ground with rich source of mangrove crustacean, oyster, crabs, shrimp, milk fish and clams.
