BRIEF HISTORY

Barangay Binisitahan Sur is derived from the word “Visita” or “Vinisitahan” which literally mean visitor or guest, or a place where people from other place come to see the old sitio of the Parina of Magallanes, then a barrio of pueblo de Casiguran during the Spanish time.

In early 70’s, during the administration of the late Mayor Manuel B. Carranza, the old original Barrio of Binisitahan was divided into two (2) barangays namely Binisitahan Sur and Binisitahan Norte perhaps to settle a conflict of leadership among rising Barangay leaders.

From then a self-reliant and political jurisdiction of Barangay Binisitahan Sur was formally created.
