Blessing and Inauguration of National Child Development Center

         The LGU of Magallanes have just formally opened the new ECCD Center located in Barangay Binisitahan Sur. The inauguration was attended by the LCE Hon. Mayor Augusto Tito Mella Ragragio, the MGDHs, some Punong Barangays, Parents and children and the community held on Sept. 28, 2015 at around 7:30 AM. The blessing was officiated by Rev. Father Joel A. BIlan while the ceremonial ribbon cutting was done by the Mayor and the MSWDO Ms. Necie B. Mercadero. Early Childhood Care Development is a priority of this administration pursuant to the approved Executive-Legislative Agenda CY 2013 as supported by the LGU’s Annual Investment Plan. ECCD emphasizes a holistic approach focusing on the child’s physical, emotional, social as well as cognitive development. The objective of ECCD is to nurture the children for their physical and mental development and to prepare them for schooling with right attitudes and habits. Investments in Early Childhood Care Development can further help to modify inequalities rooted in poverty as well as social, religious or gender discrimination… very much in keeping with the Gender And Development (GAD) goals and ideals.
