In support to the LGU’s war on single-use plastics which the said organization believe was one of the reasons of the recent non-biodegradable congestion on its dumpsite, the LGU Magallanes and the Ecosystem and Environmental Resource Management System give away sako bags and basket butas-butas to Magallenos at the Magallanes Market Site last January 11, 2020. This step aims to provide an alternative after banning the single-use plastics in the town after implementing the Municipal Ordinance No. 05-2009 entitled “An Ordinance Prohibiting the use of plastic wrappers, plastic bags and styrofoam in stores/ groceries / and other business / commercial establishments in the Municipality of Magallanes, Sorsogon.”
