The Municipality of Magallanes just elected its new set of SK Federation Officers this May 29, 2018 in an election held at the Convention Hall of the Touch of Grace Hotel Resort and Restaurant in Aguada Sur, Magallanes, Sorsogon.
The newly elected and inducted SK Federation Officers are as follows:
President: Jomela B. Grutas – Caditaan, Vice-President: Marlon Orgela –Binisitahan Norte, Secretary : Mary Anne Barberan – Central, Treasurer: Ernesto Burton – Pantalan, Auditor: Ronald Balquin – Hubo, PRO: Ronald Placer – Incarizan, Sgt.-at-Arms: Mike Non – Bulala
In his message, Mayor Augusto Manuel M. Ragragio encouraged the young leaders to use their position to do good for the community, to think of worthy advocacies in which to focus their programs to address the pressing needs of the barangays such as malnutrition among children, environmental protection/conservation, health and education. He also urged them to always think of the welfare of the poor and marginalized constituents and help find ways to help finds ways to improve their circumstances. The Mayor enjoined the SK chairpersons to learn to stand firm for the advocacies of the youth, to adhere to the principles of good governance and that they should see this period as an opportunity to train and harness their knowledge/skills because time will come that they will hold higher leadership positions.
The Board of Election Supervisors (BES) was composed of the LGOO Mr. Ronaldo D. Grayda, the COMELEC Election Officer Ms. Amelita D. Ajero and the Sangguniang Bayan Secretary Ms. Zhanneta Opeña-Arambulo while Mr. Orlando Janoba from the Senior Citizens, Dr. Emma L. Navas of the academe, and PSI Edwin Balana-Apun of the PNP served as official observers in accordance with the DILG guidelines. Bill Gricalda of Bgy. Ginangra served as chair of the Election Committee while Caren Joyce Gogolin of Bgy. Binisitahan Sur and Ruth Principe of Bgy. Tula-Tula Norte served as members of the Election Committee.
